Warmer weather can be a nightmare for those with allergies; from runny noses to itchy eyes, seasonal pollen causes countless individuals misery. Allergy season not only limits outdoor activities but evokes dread in many who must confront their symptoms as soon as they step outside, everything is covered in pollen. Millions of people struggle daily due to these allergies, and Spring brings an unwelcome return of them every year.
Strengthen Your Immune System to Help Fight Allergies
Your immune system is designed to protect your body from foreign substances called allergens, which cause histamines or inflammatory reactions when they enter the body. Although these irritants may not be dangerous, people with allergies often have an abnormal response because their bodies can’t distinguish between potentially harmful viruses and bacteria and harmless particles such as dust or pollen.
When functioning properly, your immune system has the capability of recognizing and attacking foreign biological material (also known as allergens) using protective proteins antibodies. This defense process is necessary in order to maintain a healthy body and ward off illness or disease.
When your immune system mistakenly identifies harmless substances, such as dust and pollen, as threats to the body; it builds an unwarranted defense with antibodies that can trigger allergies.
The nervous system is in charge of every single bodily process, including the functioning of your immune system. It sends signals to the brain which response by healing your body, enabling movement coordination, and controlling numerous other organs. When the information provided to your brain is incomplete or cut off completely, your body will not function properly. The number one factor hindering the flow of information to your brain is subluxations (misalignments) in the spine. Subluxations impede communication between your nervous system and the rest of your body, resulting in a weakened immune response.
